East Texas Burger Co.’s Beans
“Yes – ETBC makes the best baked beans. And it only took me washing Ken’s car, twice, doing the grocery shopping for one month, and raking the leaves for three autumns for him to hand over his restaurants secret recipe! Just kidding – all I had to do was ask.”
Ingredients
2 (16 ounce) cans of baked beans
¼ cup brown sugar
1 teasp prepared mustard
1 cup ketchup
1 cup chopped onion; sautéed
4 slices crispy bacon; chopped
Instructions
Heat baked beans in a medium sized pot. In a small frying pan, cook four slices of bacon until extra crispy. Remove bacon. In this same pan sauté the chopped onions until soft. With a spatula, scrape drippings and onions into a mixing bowl. Then, whisk mustard, ketchup and brown sugar into the onions. Pour into warm baked beans. Crumble and add bacon. Heat and serve. enJOY!
