Louis, Louis Sirloin Salad
Covered in Garlic. Cooks in no thyme... Yes!


Ingredients
1 TBSP canola oil
3 TBSP finely chopped garlic
2 TBSP sesame seeds
pinch of red pepper, (optional)
pinch of thyme, (optional)
Couple shakes of coarse ground pepper
Couple shakes of kosher salt
1 pound of baby spinach or spring mix
12 slices of purple onion
2 tomatos cut into small wedges
4 sirloin steaks, (total weight 1-1/2 pounds) cut 1 inch thick (no more than 1-1/2 inch thick)
 
Instructions
Preheat saute pan with canola oil over medium heat. Add garlic, sesame seeds, thyme, salt and peppers. Cook 2 minutes, until sesame seeds are golden. Transfer to a small bowl. Increase heat to medium-high. Sear steaks for approximately four minutes on each side for medium rare and six minutes for medium-well. Transfer to serving platter then spread garlic mixture over steaks. Cover with foil for five minutes before slicing thin. Arrange slices over greens distributed equally onto four serving dishes. Top with purple onion. Garnish with tomato wedges. Drizzle with your favorite dressing. Serve with french bread and brie.
