“What was I thinking when I wasn’t thinking?”
I admit it. Sometimes words just fly out of my mouth — often they are followed by a crazy idea. Like this one a couple years ago… I told my kids to climb up a ladder — in the middle of our woods of all places. “Drape grandpa’s American flag over the top of it.” I remember Kyle laughing his head off when Rissa asked me why we were doing this and I responded, “because I think your heads will look good in the trees…”

Hey, what’s a childhood without a parent doing wild and crazy stuff for their kids to joke around about for years go come?
I have a picture of my husband on a Ferry in the Puget Sound, holding his hand up just so, so that in the photo it looked like he was holding a tiny Space Needle in his hand. He still rolls his eyes when we come to that one in the scrapbooks.
And their heads do look good in the trees…with the flag on the ladder, lol.
I love your website! Thanks for leaving a comment on my adoption blog. I appreciated your kindness. By the way, the band (for your favorites on Blogger) is Five for Fighting and the singer of “Daughters” is John Mayer.
Best wishes!
