“There are some people that if they don’t know, you can’t tell them.”
Louis Armstrong
“Let there be Kix!” Kyle squealed during his first sleep over with his cousin Mikey. They celebrated this momentous occasion the way 2 year olds do when no one is looking. They flung cereal high into the air. That is until grandma walked up the hallway. “Boys! You need to clean this mess right away!”
Mess? Huh? This was not a mess! This was a party! The boys shrugged their teensy shoulders like dear ol’ grandma had lost her mind. Grandma summoned me to their room. Her face nearly froze when I ran the opposite direction for the camera. This precious moment would last forever — “keep throwing!” I laughed.
Grandma, whom I love dearly, told me I was making a mistake… but I dunno. These two cousins still enjoy the power of fun. Besides, snapping this picture was much more fun than vacuuming.

My boys just did that recently all over the living room…except it was with popcorn. Thankfully I’d not put the usual butter on it that time!
Unless you were planning on making Grandma clean it up, I think you did just fine. Look at those smiles!
You are a much better momma than me. We don’t allow food to be taken out of the kitchen. I hope the boys didn’t grind the cereal into the carpet and that this was your house not grandmas!
I totally would have gone for the camera first, too.
awesome!!! love it!!!
Hi, I came across your site while I was blog hopping today. I like what I’ve seen so far.
I thought this was a great post. Although, most times I’m with Grandma. Not that that’s where I want to be. I am trying to relax and just let things be.
Just last week my 13yo son stopped me as I was on my way into the living room and he said, “Mom, don’t think of it as a mess, think of it as a castle.” The younger kids had the couches tore apart and every pillow used to make a fort. So, I just turned around a found a different room that I was able to enter without being trapped.
We love Kix at our house. My 3yo daughter even made her own recipe with kix. Your welcome to come on over and read about it, if you wish. http://rollinwiththepunches.blogspot.com/2007/09/chocolate-pudding-covered-kix-anyone.html
