What was he thinking when he wasn’t thinking?
My 14-year old son. With a great big smile stretched across his face, he squeals. “Wow mom! You’re not going to believe how much laundry I’ve done!”
Laundry? Where are your pants? Why are you just wearing boxers?
“I threw my jeans in the washing machine. I’ve been washing clothes all day! You won’t believe it mom, but I keep finding more stuff to wash!”
I won’t believe it? A never ending, constantly growing dirty clothes pile? Try me!
“I need you to fold everything for me. I made a neat pile on the floor.”
A neat pile? Is it just me or does that picture I took of his “neat pile” look more like something you’d see hanging in an art museum? I am thinking that my son may be a Picasso! Maybe I should pull out the glue gun….. What do you think? Glue or fold?

Totally laughing at his, “You won’t believe it…”
14 is great that they can wash their own clothes, I tell mine to fold theirs and put them away too, but mostly they just get shoved into drawers or make their way back into the dirty laundry mountain. ugh.
How funny! The colors do blend well together….sort of an abstract you could hang on the wall. Gee, this really makes me miss my “28″ year old son….and his colorful piles. Now his wife is dealing with it, God love her……….I always wondered though, why I always ended up with mix matched socks and he kept saying the washer would eat 1 from each pair.
p.s. thanks for visiting Crooked Eyebrow…she is a special person!
Isn’t it a riot how boys “Don’t” think!?!?!
How funny!
I love to be organized - however, I am anything but right now in my home - the demolition is taking it’s toll!
Ah but when a 14 year-old says something is neat, they really mean nifty. And to his eyes, that sure is a nifty pile of clothes! It’s also a pretty small pile for all-day laundering. Did he wash each item one at a time?
Hey there…thanks for stopping by my blog! I always enjoy comments from folks and the chance to peek at their blog.
and the picture you commented on, it’s the beach we are going to if Miss Hanna gets out of the way!
14 and he’s doing his laundry….I say woo hoo! My son is 20 and I’m stil doing his!!
If he’s still enthusiastic after helping out over there, would you send him over here to tackle my pile (a.ka., Mt. Wash-me)?
Folding is were my son lacks when it comes to laundry. It looks a lot like that picture you posted. Then he thinks the dryer is the way to unwrinkle everything. 30 mins. no less. Drives me crazy! If it was folded the right way it wouldn’t need to be unwrinkled!
Boys!
I do two loads of laundry a day. Do you think your son can teach my daughter to do laundry?
Haha, too funny! It was the thought that counts…
My 14 year old son won’t go NEAR the luandry-so I look at your picture and actually feel a little envious!
Plus I can’t watch the vid at work; where might I find a print recipe?
Oh…my. Well, if he’s “big” enough to WASH the laundry, next step is learning how to FOLD the laundry, right?
Do tell! Whatever did you to do GET your son to do his OWN laundry?!
ha ha ha.

hey, well at least he did his own laundry!
I guess his definition of “neat” is everything put together. And not 1 pc at every corner of the room. hehehe Well, u did make some moms envious with his enthusiasm in doing laundry.
Too funny. The folding & putting away is the hard part! I try to trick the boys into doing housework by making it a game. One of my favorites is “The Laundry Game”
I take the clean laundry & dump it on my bed. Each boy picks a spot on the floor. As I toss each boy an article of clothing, they have to fold it, put it in a neat stack and when done, put it away. It’s a bit of a race to see who can get done first. My 11 year old is a pretty good folder.
We haven’t let them use the washer & dryer by themselves yet.
This is funny Debbie, your son is definitely very responsible son. Anna
OH, this must be what I have to look forward to, times three!
Steph
What?? He washed and wants you to fold?? Booger! I HATE that part of laundry. Ok…Really I hate it all. I really, really hate laundry!
Nice he is at least helping out though! Not bad considering he IS a teenager and all!
